The department offers a matching program for faculty to sponsor students to do collaborative work over the summer. I try to sponsor and collaborate with students in this way each year. Funds are limited though and so if you are interested in such support, please reach out to me and indicate the following:
What collaborative research would you propose that we do together over the summer?
What grants, awards, or other funding sources besides faculty sponsorships do you have to support your summer research?
What other department faculty that could potentially sponsor you (sometimes we can work out to split costs)?
Typically the department needs to hear from faculty about these sponsorships in April, so please send your answers to these questions by March 31.
